Great Movie but Joker May Scare Kids
The movie is very violent and dark for a batman movie, more dark than the first one. Joker may scar kids, the things he does and says. It's clear that he doesn't care for really anything not any human life not even his own, he shoots his henchmen, mixes up his story about his scars (This was written in on purpose by Nolan), he laughs manically when he's killed, etc. He does a lot of things that kids might find scary but as long as they know this is a movie and cops and our protectors have a much better watch and control over these types of help might help them be more comfortable. It also is pretty violent, shootings, stabbings, explosions and more are a common theme. It has an overall dark tone as well and taps into deeper things that no batman or even superhero film has done before. So overall Joker is scary, it's violent, it's dark but it amazing.

An excellent Batman film from Christopher Nolan
The dark knight is an excellent movie and probably the best movie in the series. I showed my 10 year old this film and he had no problem with anything. As for violence, there are frequent hand to hand fights and some guns and knifes. The joker may scare younger viewers and two face is a pretty disturbing villain. Frequent scenes of peril and some swearing. Nothing too sexual. Overall I would recommend this to 10+ and maybe some mature 9 year olds

Best comic book movie
Batman is very dark and brutal in this sequel. Joker is very creepy and threatening. Lots of action and hand to hand combat. There is some scenes where people die get stabbed or shot. On guy gets a pencil shoved into his eye. (no blood and happens very fast). [SPOILER] Some main characters die and Bruce Wayne feels guilty.

Too much violence -not for kids
Overall the dark knight movie was ok. It was not great but not awful. The first Batman movie was much better. Definitely not for kids because of the violence. I would highly recommend 17+.During the hospital scene two face was extremely gory. His face depicted very graphically. His face was burned and it was graphic. Within the first 15 minutes there is a lot of violence with the joker and a lot of shooting, but it does not get better throughout the movie. The jokers face was extremely scary, and the backstory was scary with him cutting his face to make him smile because of his dad. The joker hated humanity and liked pain and was an awful example to kids. To summarize don’t show kids below 17 this movie at all. If kids watch this movie skip the hospital scene with two face for sure- and watch it with them. This movie should have been rated R. This movie was extremely dark. Some of the reviews were very misleading.

Good movie (CSM WHY 15+? YOURE CRAZY)
If I could give 3.5 stars I would but I can’t so I gave it 4. It was a great movie! I mean, I had no idea what the heck was happening haha, but my dad says that’s normal. My dad says he had to watch it a few times before he really understood it. Which I guess is kind of stupid, that’s why it has 3.5 instead of 5 stars. Not much language, I only noticed it like twice. As for the “fooling around” I didn’t even guess that…you literally can’t tell what they were doing. There’s kissing, like any good movie. It was sad when *SPOILER* Rachel died because I liked her. EPIC PLOT TWIST!!! lots of violence but 10-11+ kids could totally handle it unless they’re sensitive, then you might wait until 12 or 13. I loved it. Joker didn’t scare me at all. 2 face kinda did but not really, so great movie. The only part that was a little scary was when a kid almost died but then didn’t.

This movie is very dark, but it is no 15+. However, if you or your children are easily disturbed, you might want to wait longer, mainly because of the Joker.

Great movie
The Dark Knight is the epitome of comic book film making. It may be scary for younger kids, but good for Tweens and beyond. I highly recommend this for kids above 11, but for younger kids, I advise parents to watch it with them to fast forward occasionally.

very dark
this movie is not another superhero movie, it’s darker and has stronger themes than other movies, marvel ones are the first to come to mind. there is little to no language or sex. there is a lot of violence, especially for a pg13 movie. there is no blood whatsoever and some of the violence is off screen, which imo is much better because it makes it all that more mysterious. an 11 or 12 year old could also watch this, but it may be harder for them to grasp the themes.
